In commemoration of Liberation Day, around Seodaemun Prison History Hall, Seodaemun Independence Park, Independence Gate, and Walk to Yeongcheon Market. Seodaemun Prison is where Korea died fighting for the independence of the country against Japanese colonial rule. It is the site of independence and the living history of many patriotic ancestors. Seodaemun Prison, a former prison in Seoul, is a modern prison built by Japanese imperialism. It opened in October 1908 and served as a prison for 80 years until it was closed in November 1987. The prison is built of red brick and has a panopticon structure, a circular prison type that can effectively monitor inmates. was created. During the Japanese colonial period, many anti-Japanese independence activists who fought against colonial rule were imprisoned, and after liberation, It is the site of history where pro-democracy activists who resisted the dictatorship and the Goodnaught regime were imprisoned. Gyeongseong Prison in 1908, Seodaemun Prison in 1912, Seodaemun Prison in 1923, Seoul Prison in 1945, Seoul Prison in 1961, In 1967, the name was changed to Seoul Detention Center several times. In November 1987, the Seoul Detention Center moved to Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do. After the relocation, considering the historicity and preservation value, the security and government buildings, the 9th and 12th prisons, the Gongsa Temple, the Hansen Byunsa Temple, and the execution room were built. All other facilities have been demolished. Afterwards, on November 5, 1998, to preserve the sages in Seodaemun-gu and make them a lesson in history. Seodaemun Prison History Hall was opened.
