It is believed that the name Anyangcheon is derived from a temple near the river called Anyangsa Temple, which was rebuilt by King Taejo of Goryeo. Anyangsa Temple remains only the current site. Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do was named after this river in the 20th century. This river flows through the boundary between Geumcheon-gu, Seoul and Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and forms the boundary between Yeongdeungpo-gu and Yangcheon-gu and Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Anyangcheon stream originates from Mt. Gwanggyo, located in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and merges with Wanggokcheon, Amcheon, Haguicheon, Sanboncheon, Suamcheon, and Mokgamcheon, and from Anyang-si Gyeongbu Line [1] to Olympic-daero Yeomchanggyo are designated as national rivers. Anyang Gyeongbu Line Railroad is a regional river managed by Gyeonggi Province.
